LP Energy Services Group manless entry tank cleaning technology separates solids from liquids using centrifugal sedimentation, without the need for filter media. The machine consists of two main rotating elements: an outer solid bowl and an inner helical screw. The screw rotates at a slightly slower speed than the bowl, driven by an epicyclic gear unit. This differential speed moves the solids along the bowl’s drainage deck, where centrifugal force drains the liquid (centrate).

Continuous Tank Cleaning

The manless tank cleaning technology separates solids from liquids using centrifugal sedimentation (no filter media).
Key components:
- Outer solid bowl (rotating element).
- Inner helical screw (rotating at a slightly slower speed).
The screw is driven by an epicyclic gear unit, which controls the speed differential.
Solids are separated on a drainage deck, and the liquid (centrate) is drained off by centrifugal force.

Solids Collected

The bowl is a combination of cylindrical and conical shapes, and the screw follows the bowl’s contours.
Feed is introduced through a stationary pipe, ensuring no slurry spills onto the drainage deck.
Liquid flows back around the screw, preventing short-circuiting and aiding separation.
Adjustable centrate discharge ports control the liquid pool size and drainage deck length.
Solids are consolidated against the bowl wall and moved toward discharge ports.
Both centrate and solids are directed into a stationary case with baffles to prevent re-mixing.
